Under Governor Kelly, Kansas has experienced unprecedented economic investment. To sustain and expand that growth, the legislature should do more to develop our workforce and pass policies that protect workers. Investments in infrastructure – and emerging industries like renewable energy – is critical to competing in our global economy.

Public schools provide a strong foundation for future generations and are the economic lifeline of many communities in Kansas. Tobias’s top priority is to fully fund public education and protect investments in our higher education institutions.

As the lead chaplain of the Topeka Police Department, Tobias understands the critical role healthcare plays in the health and well-being of our state. He will fight tirelessly for protections for pre-existing conditions and oppose predatory insurance practices that leave Kansans with large medical bills and little coverage.

Kansas must reduce that tax burden on Kansas families and our fixed-income seniors. While eliminating the state sales tax on food was a step in the right direction, taxpayers should not have to wait 3 years for this much-needed economic relief. Historic economic growth allows our state to responsibly cut taxes while also maintaining strong funding for our state agencies.

Extremists in the legislature are holding our state back. Discriminatory policies that hurt vulnerable populations in our communities are unacceptable. To reach our full potential as a state, we must do all we can to create a welcoming and inclusive Kansas for generations to come. This includes policies that support the LGBTQ+ community and defend a woman’s right to make her own health choices.
